From factory sale to outlet city

Metzingen is the home of Hugo Boss. The company opened its first factory sale here in 1972, and in the 1990s brands such as Bally, Escada and Joop! followed, creating one of Germany’s first factory outlet concepts. In 2019 the Gaenslen & Völter site added further stores, and Hugo-Boss-Platz is home to one of the largest BOSS outlets in the world. Modern store architecture with large glass façades stands alongside restored half-timbered houses, and as the stores are spread across the town centre, it is worth checking the Outletcity site map before you set off.
